Another Shot Of Crown

The Los Angeles Kings captured their 2nd Stanley Cup title in the past 3 years, beating the New York Rangers 3-2 in double overtime on Friday night before a raucous crowd at Staples Center. The Kings were simply the better team, beating the Rangers after surviving 3 consecutive Game 7’s to take the Western Conference championship after knocking off the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks.
Our blow-by-blow.

That’s A 10 Spot

The Anaheim Ducks handed the New York Islanders their 10 consecutive loss in a 5-2 romp Monday night at the palace formerly known as the Pond. We duck in again to fill our glasses with ice.

Ice, Ice, Baby

Best club in hockey right now resides in Anaheim. The Ducks are a frachise-record 6-0-0 at home and own the best record in the NHL. But it’s a long and grueling season and plenty of puck to be played.
Our blow-by-blow of the Ducks 5-2 win over the Coyotes in a matchup of 2 of the Pacific Division at the palace formerly called the Pond Wednesday night.

Ducks: What The Puck?

A lot of folks, me included, were hoping for a Ducks-Kings series. It would have been the 1st time the 2 franchises faced off in the NHL playoffs.
But the Ducks gave a lackluster performance against Detroit, allowing the Red Wings to prevail in a 3-2 victory in Game 7 on Sunday night in Anaheim.

Putting Their Ducks In A Row

Red Wings 5, Ducks 4 OT.
Best hockey game we’ve ever witnessed. Detroit had a 3-goal lead in the 3rd period only to see it melt in a furious rally by the Ducks. The more than 17,000 at Honda Center went nuts only to fall silent when the Wings won it in overtime.

Ducking In Again With A Stiff 1 On Ice

Clippers-Lakers wasn’t the only game in L.A. Cross-town rival Anaheim and L.A. engaged in a spirited NHL match behind the Curtain on Sunday night. Our blow-by-blow.

Duck Walk

We were sipping the Ducks’ juice on ice again Wednesday night, when Anaheim’s finest smacked the Stars in the 2nd of 3 straight meetings this week. Our blow-by-blow.

Skating By

Fortunately, instead of beating my head on more March Madness homework and betting schemes for parlays, I watched the Ducks rally to beat the Blackhawks in a matchup of the 2 best clubs in the NHL on Wednesday night at the palace formerly known as the Pond. The one that used to have the Liberation colors on the floor (red, black and green for my senile friends) during basketball games, but times have changed.
Lots of Blackhawks’ fans in Anaheim. Made plenty of noise, too. And yeah, a few unruly Chicago and Ducks’ fans tangled a bit, probably because the Hawks didn’t like how the wind blew and getting smoked with 3 goals by the Ducks in he final 6 minutes for a 4-2 win.
Our blow-by-blow.
