Who’s That Lady?

Much attention has been focused on Matt Kemp, who along with the hot rumors of dating Eva Longoria homered as the Dodgers spoiled the Padres Opening Day on Thursday. But inquiring minds wanted to know who was the new lady hanging out with Frank McCourt. It appears McCourt has made a major league upgrade from ex-wife Jamie McCourt.

California Dreaming

At least 1 writer is already picking the Angels to win it all. We’re convinced there will be more. In this case, though, Tom Verducci is picking the Angels to defeat the Giants in the World Series.

Dodgers To Get The Magic Touch

According to Dennis Berman of the Wall Street Journal, the group headed by Magic Johnson has won the bidding for the Dodgers for $2 billion, a record purchase for a Major League Baseball team.
This historic development means Johnson becomes the 1st African American to own a MLB club.

As Much As They Like To Spring Forward, We’re Just Hoping They Don’t Go Face Down

The Phoenix metro area is getting a boost in beer sales with 2 of our favorite characters, Padres fan Bill Prall and Pirates breath Paul McDonald. The 2 sent us this gem before reloading on Coors Light and taking in the punk-ass Cubs and D-Backs exhibition on Friday at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the new spring training digs for the D-Backs and Rockies.

Hey, It’s Mr. Happy Again

I still remember laughing hysterically during spring training last year upon hearing how Andre Ethier would develop into a leader in the Dodgers clubhouse. Are we talking about the same dude, I thought.
The kid who continues to act like a 5-year-old with his frequent temper tantrums started camp this week on a high note, dissing reporters and continuing his childish behavior. Maybe the Dodgers should cut their losses and trade this piece of shit? Oh that’s right, no 1 wants him.

50-50?

Hope springs eternal each year at spring training. Take Matt Kemp for instance. The Dodger centerfielder, who should have been MVP last season, will shoot for the moon this season, attempting to go where no other player has gone before. 50 home runs and 50 steals. Of all the players in Major League Baseball, he’s the 1 who could possibly do it, but that’s a rugged mountain to climb.

Again, What Are The Odds?

The Phillies (7-2) are the favorite to capture the World Series, according to the odds at Santa Fe Station in Las Vegas. The Cardinals, who shocked the world and the Phillies in last season’s playoffs, are 16-1, down from 18-1. Among the others: Yankees (9-2); Red Sox (7-1); Angels (5-1); Dodgers (28-1); Rangers (4-1); Tigers (5-1); Giants (12-1); Braves (16-1); punk-ass Cubs (35-1); White Sox (50-1); Padres (155-1); and A’s (100-1).

Maybe Prince Fielder’s buddy Matt Kemp is a better recruiter than we know.
