Even By NCAA’s Sleazy Standards, Case Against Georgia’s Green Outrageous As Any
-
Though it doesn’t surprise, I still have difficulty sometimes believing the depth of how far the NCAA will go with its sleazy tactics. Gutter ball at its finest. Take the A.J. Green case for example. The Georgia wide receiver’s case is this season’s Dez Bryant, except Green didn’t get the same penalty Bryant suffered. Thank goodness for small favors.

Big Payback: $54,896 Dinner Tab
-
It’s been good being Roy Williams for the past few days. Sunday, he stuck the Texans for a pair of touchdowns in a crucial win by the ‘Boys. Monday, he helped stick rookie Dez Bryant with an outrageous dinner tab as payback for Bryant refusing to carry his pads recently.

And Since We’re Cruising Naked In Dallas, We’ll Shoot The Moon On Biggest Non-Story

-
Too much baseball has almost made Blak4rest a dull boy. Almost.
Dez Bryant refused to carry Roy Williams’ pads. Big deal. Last time we checked, Williams hasn’t carried his own pads for about 2 years. But for whatever reason, this has become the biggest non-story of the summer. I know it’s hot back there, but damn.
If you visited the website of the Dallas Morning News, you would have thought it was Super Bowl week and Thomas Henderson unleashed the classic “Couldn’t spell cat if you spotted him the ‘c’ and ‘a.’” But you know we need something to write and talk about.
A sample of the headers: Dez Bryant’s breach of protocol a matter to address. Dez Bryant ignores issue on Monday, but he’ll eventually have to deal with it. Dez Bryant wrong to give Roy Williams the cold shoulder pad. Dez Bryant threatens to be Cowboys’ Chan Ho Park.
There could be tons of reasons for Bryant’s refusal to be Roy’s boy. We know about rookie hazing, but some rookies have the balls to stand up and say “f-ing ‘f’ you dude! I’m going to take your freaking job.” Besides, if Texas had hammered me as much as it has Okie State, I would have passed on carrying Williams’ gear too.
If Martellus Bennett asks Bryant to carry his tools, then we’ve got a story. But until then, get me another beer Dez and see if my man Gazzolo needs a refill too.

Ripping Him A New One

Jeff Ireland, the Fins GM (that would be the little tuna to the left above if you’re scoring at home) who had the gall to ask Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute, has gotten a free pass from the mainstream media. One boot-licking columnist for the Miami Herald said Ireland had every right to ask Bryant the outrageous question. Obviously, he too has lost his freaking mind. But he isn’t the only one. Many other empty wagons have defended Ireland’s conduct, who of course had to be condoned by Bill Parcells, when it indefensible.
But our friends at Sports On My Mind frequently write some of the most thought-provoking pieces of any website we ever visit. Simply, they deliver some good shit. They didn’t disappoint on this one either. Actually, it’s one of the all-time favorites I’ve read at the site. Without further adieu…

‘Is Your Mom A Whore?’

-
What would Tebow do?
I know there are many NFL executives, coaches and scouts who are some classless idiots, but this one takes the cake.
Miami GM Jeff Ireland issued a half-ass apology after word leaked out he asked Cowboys’ first-round pick Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute during an earlier interview with the Dolphins. Yahoo Sports had reported last week that Bryant had mentioned a high-level NFL executive had asked him such a question. An advisor to Bryant confirmed today it was Ireland.
Even after the fact, Ireland’s statement excuses his behavior: “My job is to find out as much information as possible about a player that I’m considering drafting. Sometimes that leads to asking in-depth questions.”
No shit Sherlock?
