One of college football’s winningest coaches and a walking quote machine, Bobby Bowden went out a winner on Thursday as Florida State popped West Virginia in the Gator Bowl (how about that bit of irony). The Florida State players said there was no way they’d lose. “We had to send Coach Bowden out right. HAD to,” said senior linebacker Dekoda Watson, who had two sacks in the victory. “Florida State is Florida State because of that man. He doesn’t think he’s bigger than you. He’s a phenomenal man.”
