Angels Dust
-
Is that you Richard Petty? Didn’t think so.
WTF Arte Moreno? Initially, you were considered 1 of the best owners in sports, but your shit swims downstream quicker than Drano.
The Angels are off to a bad start again and Arte apparently is taking it out on sportswriters who cover the team, burying them in the right-field bleachers. Guess you can’t blame Tony Reagins for everything, no? Besides, did you consider maybe taking much of that coin to sign Zack Greinke instead of Josh Hamilton? Didn’t think so. By the way, how much would you pay me to be the GM? I could save you more grief than Jerry Dipoto. Seriously.
Arte has the red ass about what T.J. Simers writes. You’d think Arte was a smarter man than that, but no.
Anyway, they’ve won 3 in a row and they’re jacking off in their pants, and keep hope alive Angels’ fans. But last time we checked you’re still in the rearview mirror of the Rangers and A’s. And with that pitching staff and bullpen…
Oh, and another T.J. column.

Rough Weekend In The Old Neighborhood
-
Seriously, do you let your wife and kids go to the 1st game back in Texas after all the bad blood has been spilled?
The Ranger fans tore Josh Hamilton a new 1 this weekend and also took 2 of 3 from the Angels. And he underestimated them. Oh doctor.

With Waylon and Willie and the boys…
Josh Hamilton returns to the scene of the crime today, when the Angels visit the Rangers in a 3-game series in Ft. Worth. To quote Jim Harrick, it should be a ball burner.

Where’s Arte Moreno? Magic Johnson?
The usual suspects such as Roger Goodell, David Stern and Bud Selig are among a list of the 50 most powerful people (only 3 women) in sports. But Ed O’Bannon? That’s right. The former UCLA star could change the landscape of college sports with his suit against the NCAA.

Angel Dust

Like the Spurs, we believe the Angels might be good to go this season. At least we hope so as far as our boys Mahi and Bob Young are concerned.
Early favorites to win the World Series: Angels and Dodgers (6-1); Nationals and Tigers (7-1); Giants and Blue Jays (9-1); Reds, Yankees and Braves (12-1); Phillies (16-1); Cardinals (18-1); A’s and Rays (20-1); Red Sox (30-1); and just for the record, the punk-ass Cubs (70-1).

On The Down Stroke
-
Don’t tell Angel fans (or suspect GM Jerry Dipoto), but writer Joe Posnanski speculates that Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols are both on the decline. He throws out a ton of numbers and examples of past Major League Baseball players, who couldn’t hack it after reaching a certain point in their careers. Age, obviously, was a big part of it. Hamilton is 31 and Pujols, last we heard, is 32.
Regardless of how these 2 fare, we believe pitching (or lack of) will be the Angels’ downfall.

By Josh That’s A Nice Addition, But It Doesn’t Add Anything To That Shaky Pitching Rotation
-
The Angels again make the splash of the offseason, signing former Rangers’ slugger Josh Hamilton today to a reported 5-year, $125-million deal. That’s all fine and dandy, but the Angels’ suspect pitching still has plenty of holes in it.
And someone, anyone, please explain to us the addition of Joe Blanton.

How in the world of Allan H. Selig does this happen in 1 year? Oh that’s right. They’ve done this before.
