You’ll never see Adonal Foyle’s name on any NBA All-Star lists. Actually, Foyle’s name is one of the last mentioned on the Magic’s roster. You can usually find him on the end of the bench, sometimes sitting in street clothes. But his value to Orlando and its players is much more significant than the $1.3 million he draws.
They don’t make NBA players like Foyle anymore. He’s one of the rare instances these days of a player who cares about politics, has an intelligent opinion on the subject and not afraid to speak his mind, whether its politically correct or not. Foyle, a graduate of Colgate, also has laid the foundation for his post-basketball career. Many athletes would do themselves justice by taking a page from his playbook.
