Vegas: Sights & Seen

Like we needed a reason to run a Kanye and Kim photo.
Though this 1 was taken in London (and a fav of ours for obvious reasons), Kanye and friends were hanging out at the Cantonese Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino after his performance Sunday at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

Clipped Again

Sometimes, we’re the dumbest guys on the block. But even we had to question Vegas giving the Clippers 2 1/2 points after the colossal collapse in Game 6. Seriously, what are we missing here, we thought? Unfortunately, not a thing. Just as we predicted (we know, they took a different route, but…), its a Rockets-Warriors Western Conference Final, but everyone knew that, no?
My old lady keeps asking why I don’t bet these things. She really thinks I’m brilliant. I don’t have the heart to tell her. “Sweetie, if I bet it, it ain’t going to happen. Trust me.”

Epic Collapse

Silly us. We thought Dwight didn’t want to come back to L.A.
We were drooling of a Clippers-Warriors rematch in the Western Conference final. We weren’t the only ones either. Then a big hole sunk the Clippers’ ship in the 4th quarter, and you know the rest of the story. How does this happen with no James Harden in the final period? And since we’re dropping dimes, someone please give Stan Van Gundy a playoff share because he is the reason Josh Smith is in Houston.
“We kind of…you could tell we kind of got stunned, and we didn’t respond well,” Blake Griffin said.
    No shit Sherlock?
    The rest of the story.

B.B. King: 1925-2015

The legendary Blues man passed Thursday night in Las Vegas. He was 89. Couldn’t tell you how much of an impact he had on fans like me. Still remember seeing that “Indianola Mississippi Seeds” album in my Dad’s collection. The cover immediately drew me in. Then I put a needle to it. Oh doctor.

2 Of A Kind

Always good to see Craig Sager, who is battling leukemia. Couldn’t pick a better dress partner either than Calvin Murphy, shown above before Rockets bust a cap in the Clippers’ ass in Game 5.

Dee Day

The former Dodgers second baseman returned with the Miami Marlins, who were handed a crushing fate by Scott Van Slyke (yep, the bearded lad on the left and son of Andy Van Slyke), who delivered a walk-off homer Monday night.
