King: He’s The Missing Piece Of Puzzle That Could Put Together Mayweather-Pacquiao

Take it for what it’s worth, but stranger things have happen. And one of my thoughts, though some would say not a coherent one, is Don King might be the guy who could make this showdown. Why? If King is able to sit down with Bob Arum and make the deal, it puts him back in the high life again. Not like he needs it with all the money he’s pawned from fighters (Is that you Mike Tyson?). But King doesn’t have a high-profile fighter now and coming in an helping to make the fight that everyone wants to see makes him, pardon the pun, King again. No?
The bombastic King, who is seriously recruiting Floyd Mayweather Jr., tees off on Golden Boy and Mayweather’s current management team as being incapable of putting together Mayweather-Pacquiao. They can’t count that high, King says.
“Me and Bob would get that fight done in two shakes of a lamb’s tail,” King told ESPN’s Dan Rafael. “If I was there working with Bob Arum, this fight would have been history. It’d be ready now and we’d be talking about how we gonna promote. It wouldn’t be nothing but a piece of cake. But even then it would be so much bigger that what it would be if he were to make with Golden Boy or Al (Haymon). They cannot make the fight as big as Arum and I can make it. They are not in the class of a Bob Arum.”
Good piece and recommended reading regardless of what you think of King.
