Plenty of folks are up in arms over an Arkansas radio reporter being fired for wearing a Florida Gators hat to a press conference featuring Razorbacks Coach Bobby Petrino.
Renee Gork, a Florida graduate and a reporter for KAKS, which bills itself as “Hogs Sports Radio,” was given her walking papers by the Fayetteville station.
It’s definitely a harsh penalty to pay and Ms. Gork shouldn’t have been fired, but did she ever hear of no cheering in the press box? Seriously, I like my sports gear as much as anyone, but reporters know you never ever wear your colors in the press box or to any press conferences.
