Alexander Isn’t Great, But He’s Good Enough

Another fight marred by the commentary of Max Kellerman.
Devon Alexander won a unanimous decision tonight over Andriy Kotelnik, but the lightweight champ had his hands full the entire fight. The 3 judges each scored it 116 to 112, but since the fight was in Alexander’s hometown of St. Louis, he might have received the benefit of the doubt.
But there was no doubt he won the fight, being the busier of the 2 fighters. Kotelnik though showed some excellent defensive skills and frequently countered with power shots that rocked Alexander several times. Alexander also suffered a cut over his right eye, the result of the 2 clashing heads.
A showdown between Alexander and unbeaten Timothy Bradley might be up next. Alexander even called Bradley out.
