The baddest man in baseball, Albert Pujols, became the 3rd fastest player to reach 400 homers, but the Cards, like the Phillies, continued their August meltdown in a 11-10 setback to the Nats in 13 innings. Since sweeping the Reds, the Cards have gone in the tank.
Even better, Bob Nightengale, the most connected baseball writer in the business, threw out some mind-blowing theories during an interview on Fox Sports radio tonight. He suggested that Ozzie Guillen would get canned by the White Sox, then head for the Marlins, opening up a spot in Chicago for Tony LaRussa and opening up a spot in St. Louis for Joe Torre.
