Geffen To Sterling: Give Me A Piece Of The Action And I’ll Deliver LeBron To Clippers

-
Several reports are circulating today about entertainment mogul David Geffen pushing Donald Sterling to sell him majority ownership of the Clippers. In return, Geffen reportedly told Sterling he could deliver LeBron James if allowed to call the shots.
Peter Vecsey of the New York Post initally reported the story. But Sterling, according to many, would never sell the franchise. Too bad.
James could elevate the Clip Joint to a higher plane it has never experienced. Though the Clippers will never be on the level of the Lakers, with James and the club’s strong cast of Blake Griffin, Chris Kaman and Eric Gordon, they could enhance their status considerably in the City of Angels.

No brothers in the club?: There are rumblings in Cleveland about the fact that no African American sportswriters or broadcast personalities in the area are covering the King. Big surprise there, huh?
George Thomas, who works for the Akron (Ohio) Beacon Journal, was taken off the beat last week. That doesn’t sit well with several African American sportswriters, particularly ESPN’s Chris Broussard, who called it “insulting” and “stereotypical.” With Cleveland’s population being more than 50% black, it is particularly disgusting, Broussard said.
