Another Clipper Alum Done Good

-
No one is giving Alvin Gentry and the Suns much of a chance in hell of beating the Lakers, but no one believed they’d be in the Western Conference finals either.
Gentry has been a good reason for that, but spare us folks like Doug Collins, as he did during the Suns-Spurs series, drool over what he described as the outstanding GM Steve Kerr has done. Please. How many times has he screwed up this club? And he’s benefiting from the old adage of the best trades are the ones never made. Kerr was all set to deal Amar’e Stoudemire, not once but twice, for trades during the past 2 seasons.
And as much as Amar’e has played his way into a decent payday, one reason for the Suns’ success is that he is playing a little ‘D’ lately. Gentry is the reason for that too.
