Taking It To The Streets

Long Beach is jumping this weekend. And with 3 female drivers, including the lovely Venezuelan beauty Milka Duno, in the field of this weekend’s Long Beach Grand Prix, the race has some added flavor. Danica Patrick and Simona de Silvestro, who hails from Switzerland, are the other two competing. Patrick and Duno add some spice to the event since they have some major history between them and continue to have an extreme dislike for each other. During an Indy Race in Ohio two years ago, the two exchanged words and insults.
Patrick is the most popular of the female drivers, but Duno is an interesting study. Besides racing, Duno, who lives in Miami, also has a good head on her shoulders, earning 4 master’s degrees in organizational development, naval architecture, maritime business and marine biology.
The LBGP features a weekend of activities, including a street fest tonight (actually, the downtown streets, Pine Avenue in particular, will be packed all weekend), and a celebrity race Saturday. The main event is Sunday at 1:15 p.m.
If you’ve never been, we highly recommend it. The food, drink, eye candy and the rest of the scenery is something to behold.
