While Roethlisberger Skates On Possible Rape, Steelers Put Troubled Holmes On Jets’ Plane

Ben Roethlisberger avoided being prosecuted on rape charges today for his role in an alleged sexual assault of a 20-year-old college student, but his troubles aren’t over yet. Expect the Steelers’ quarterback to be suspended for his reckless behavior by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. If not, Goodell will show his so-called justice toward other players is incredibly biased. I’ve always believe the legal system should dictate whether a player should be punished or not, but with the NFL’s player conduct policy and Goodell’s hard-nosed approach on it, there is no reason to believe Roethlisberger will avoid suspension.
Meanwhile, Steeler fans must be screaming about yesterday’s trade of wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who was dealt to the Jets for a 5th-round choice. It’s clear the club was anxious to part ways with Holmes, who has had his troubles with law enforcement too, but for a 5th-round pick is ludicrous.
