He’s Putting Rebels On National Radar

-
Despite a 19-4 mark, UNLV’s basketball team hasn’t generated much attention nationally. But some would argue they’re one of the best teams in the West. The Rebels opened some eyes nationally Saturday, when they hammered then 12th-ranked BYU in a Mountain West contest between the conference’s top teams in Las Vegas. One reason for the Rebels’ success this season is junior guard Tre’Von Willis, who scored a career-high 33 points, grabbed 5 boards and dished out 8 assists against BYU. He might be one of the better guards you haven’t heard of. A good defender, the 6-4 Willis is averaging 18 points per game. He and the Rebels have another conference showdown on Wednesday against No. 15 New Mexico.
